Reminder: It’s Backyard Camp Night!

Remember how much we loved being outdoors  in the summertime right in the backyard?

Telling funny and/or scary stories, listening to the sounds of nature,  getting in tune with yourself and your companions—all without the trappings of electronics.

Well, you can pass that same tradition on to the younger set, TONIGHT, when you become part of the The Great American Family Campout, sponsored by the National Wildlife Federation.

Although this is an official one-day event, go past these twenty-four hours, and stage your own family campout nights this season. And just a note about safety: be sure to pitch your tent where there’s not a low depression in the ground, so moisture won’t creep into the tent. Also, since kids  sometimes tend to get colder than adults, layer their clothing so they’ll stay comfortable when it’s cooler, and can remove a layer or two as they get warmer.  Happy camping!
