In a vigorous nod to this month also being National Nutrition Month, I came across a posting earlier that really sheds insight on what it means to eat ethically. Found on the Beginning Farmers website, this was a guest post entitled, “40 Ways to Eat More Ethically.”
Basically, to eat in an ethical manner means to put your mind where your mouth is–in other words,, exercise awareness of the impact that a meal makes on other people, animals, and the environment. It’s not enough to go through external motions, but to create a genuine connection between your fork and your mind. Our meals are a complex web that affect all of us. Make each meal a life-affirming act to the planet.
