Big Green Thinkers

Earth Day 40 may have come and gone, but the quest for being greener and cleaner on all areas continues, thanks to many of the people featured in a recent Grist posting listing 40 notable movers and shakers in the ever-growing sustainability movement.

While these names might not be familiar to youright now, or make the gossip pages and celeb watching that drives the media, these are the people who work tirelessly, daring to step out from the “norm,” and create something new, something workable that will enhance our planetary existence.

Here’s a couple of brief annotationsof these innovators–see the entire post to see the rest and learn about who’s carving out fresh approaches in greener living. .

Steve Price–a visionary green urbanist. Check out his renderings on his web site, Urban Advantage.

La Donna Redmond–Chicago-based food activist. One of her biggest actions to date was to found a sustainable food store in a South Side food desert. Find out more at her web site Graffiti and Grub.
